Every child has treasure within

Saturn’s moon Titan

Recently I have been studying about Saturn’s biggest moon Titan. Titan is said to have the closest atmosphere to Earths out of all the moons in our solar system. Titan has dense clouds and an icy surface. It has all the elements to sustain life. Although it can not support humans as it has lakes of methane and ethane. If there were to be life on Titan it would be very different from life on Earth.

My first try

I can write about anything, so i will write about my castle. It is yellow colored with 4 towers. My room is oval shaped at the top of the castle. The ONLY negative thing I can think about it is that it is not real.

Budding Artists

We hear the word creativity, imagination, artistic skills but the real meaning is understood when a child demonstrate these things. Grade 1 student exploring & learning MS Paint tools made a lovely drawing.20150715_112705

An innocent reflection

Tring! Tring! Tring! Tring!

Received a call from parent explaining how the child has made “Recycle bin” with toys.  It was amazed to see the child’s video.

Digvijay,  Grade 1 student  made Recycle Bin with toys and shared the use of recycle bin.  Reflections are must for a teacher and when you see young children thinking beyond their limits you feel so Proud.

Well done! Digvijay.

Learning by Doing

In ICT, Grade 9 IGCSE students learnt about sensors and control devices. Students made a modal

depicting a bank building which had burglar alarm. The outline of the modal with its working was

explained to the team by Karanvir Natt and then the fellow students made a full working modal

showing how sensors and control devices work. They used battery cell and bulb to make the modal.

If someone tries to steal something the light turned on in the building. It was a wonderful experience

seeing budding engineers and scientists working together. Well done Kids, I am proud of you.20150527_130245 20150530_111320

Little minds rock

Children close their eyes to advice but open their eyes to example”
This quote has a deep meaning. I saw live example of it with my first graders. During their lesson about internet they learnt how to open websites and do online coloring. During the lesson I showed them a video on lab behavior. The video was the best example of how to behave in ICT lab. As soon as the bell rang for the next lesson, to my surprise all the kids quietly cleaned their workstations, kept headphones in proper place, set their chairs nicely and finally made line to go back to their class. I was amazed to see the immidiate impact of the video. We usually underestimate children. Given the opportunity and right environment, children amaze us with their wonders.Watching videoChildren's workstationgrade 1Grade 1

Wonders in ICT

Second graders while learning how to use keyboard explored to the max. They enjoyed Dance mat software to learn different keys. They even learnt how to use both hands while typing.
Observing these young learners make me feel proud of the way they grasped new things. It was wonderful to know that kids wanted to practice it at home. Not only this they even wanted to explore the website given to them. Their engagement into their lesson was to the extent that they did not realize that the new lesson had started. I as a  mentor feel proud of providing wonderful opportunities to my children.

You are Invited

One of the most important skill in today’s fast pace world is the use of technology. As an ICT teacher I make an effort to include software that are useful in daily life. In one of my lessons, Grade 5 were made familiarized with MS Publisher – how to make post-cards, menu cards, invitation cards, flyers etc. To my utmost surprise Arushi of grade 5 shared an invitation card that she had created using the software for her brother’s birthday party. This teaches us as as teachers that we have a great role to play in accustoming our students with skills that can actually be used in real life. Great job Arushi for taking an action to your learning.… Proud of you!
